A Social Security strategy that could add $1,000's
Recent changes in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 will affect Social Security benefits.
A "restricted application for spousal benefits" requires that one person in the marriage must be 62 or older by January 2, 2016, to be "grandfathered" into this strategy.
One spouse files and takes their Social Security benefit, and the other collects only the 'spousal benefit', thereby waiting until age 70 to collect thier maximum Social Secuirty benefit.
