IRS 2015 Budget cuts impact on taxpayers
On January 13, 2015 the IRS Commissioner John A. Koskinen issued an email to all IRS employees.
To summarize the email there will be fewer IRS employees, doing more work, with outdated computer systems.
The Commissioner stated "there will be lenghty delays" in taxpayer correspondence, along with growing inventories.
There will be a hiring freeze through at least September 29, 2015.
The IRS workforce reduction since 2010, has been between 16,000 and 17,000 employees.
